National Conference on Chijd Rights and Migration.
The Conference was organized by UNICEF and The Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child.
Migration is crucially important phenomena in Moldova with more than one and a half million of its citizens who are either dependent on or living with families that regularly receive remittances from abroad. The economic effects of migration are visible; however, it has many other impacts that affect thousands of children.
The conference was aimed at sharing with the participants the latest research on the various aspects of the impact of migration on children. It tackled topics pertaining to the migration phenomena from various perspectives and the situation in the country, the psychological and emotional impact on children left behind, and violence against and trafficking of children.
The event was organized for gathering decision-makers, international bodies, civil society and academic environment of the Republic of Moldova at a meeting arena in order to stimulate discussions. Representatives of the Government, local public authorities, civil society, Academia, donors, and international organizations were participated at the conference.
