The summit the North Atlantic Treaty Organizations (NATO) in Bucharest, the President of Republic Moldova Vladimir Voronin has taken part in summit work. In the performance within the limits of a forum the president has underlined, that Moldova makes all efforts for attraction of attention of the international community uncertainty of position in that, as to the conflict in east region of the country which on an extent more than 16 years remain a zone of the instability undermining regional safety.
The head of the state has told, that the Dnestr problem which keeps soil no safety and instability not only for Republic Moldova territory, but also for all region, still remains unresolved.
Regional consequences of the conflict, created obstacles are obvious at Republic Moldova modernisation, and also взаимоувязанность a Dnestr problem with such actual themes to the international safety as ДОВСЕ, expansion of NATO, system of antimissile defence in Europe or a case of Kosovo, was specified by Vladimir Voronin.
The president has confirmed and in this connection with event, the extremely important for discussion of safety issues, an official position of Moldova: "We wish to find the viable decision of a Dnestr problem which should consist in demilitarisation and an interdiction for placing for territories of our country of foreign armies and arms according to the recognised status of a neutrality of Republic Moldova, and also in granting of the fair status to Dnestr region as a part of sovereign, indivisible and territorially complete Moldova".
Vladimir Voronin has paid attention that later 17 years after declaration of the independence Moldova wants support of the international community for avoidance of destructive polemic concerning our national identity and present boundaries to have possibility to concentrate on realisation of the Proeuropean aspirations, and also for as more as possible active involving of all parties for the purpose of a recognition of the constitutional neutrality of Republic Moldova and advancement реинтеграции the countries on the basis of international law.
During the summit of NATO head of the state Vladimir Voronin has spent discussions with presidents of Latvia Valdis Zatlersom and Lithuania Valdas Adamkus. Conversations with heads of these states concerned cooperation of Moldova with Latvia and Lithuania, prospects of expansion and deepening of relations of our country with two Baltic states. The Moldavian president has expressed gratitude both to the Latvian authorities, and a management of Lithuania for Republic Moldova firm support in realisation of its eurointegration aspirations. Also heightened interest of our country to cooperation continuation in advancement of the European standards by loan of the advanced eurointegration experience of the given two states has been noted.
