The difficult genius of simple cinema is ingenious Moldavian film director Emil Lotjanu. It is said that the talented person is talented in all. Whether so it actually, to us, mere mortals to check up difficult. However, peering into lines of biographies, trying to guess, see behind them the live person sometimes you understand, that there is also a reverse of the medal. The fate, generously awarding, does not forget also something to take in exchange.
That only in due time did not speak and did not write about ingenious Moldavian film director Emilja Lotjanu. Someone abused, someone excessively praised. Now there were only films - the main certificates of its victories and defeats. Pressing «My tender and gentle animal», unforgettably passionate «the Camp leaves in the sky», lyrical «Red glades», patriotic «Wait for us at a dawn». In its any film it is traced ïîä÷åðê the director, the press of its person at times forces heroes to make unexpected acts, and spectators impatiently (in what time!) to stiffen at the screen.
However the way from village Sekurjany in the genius was oh as it is not simple. How much the history is now recollected - 1936 was not the happiest time for a birth. The early childhood is poisoned by war, later - ruin. A family absolutely simple - in a sort foresters and millers. But the confidence undertook whence, that its destiny waits in Moscow! Certainly, songs about that «young at us everywhere is expensive» were sung, but the validity slightly mismatched bravura marches. And still to Moscow, in MKhAT. By then verses had been used up tens writing-books, relatives and acquaintances in reality saw a literary field. And Ýìèëü has surprised everything, can be itself first of all - not looking at obvious poetic gift has arrived on actor's faculty. The temperament and passion have prevailed, have won lyrical poetic thoughtfulness. And then again turn - has not passed also two years as documents have been taken away, Lotianu again becomes the entrant. This time it is irrevocably solved - director's faculty VgIka.
And here 1962 - concentration of thoughts and feelings, the diploma, returning to Moldova, but not in childhood village, and to Kishinev, on a film studio "Moldova-film". A year later the debut has followed - a geroiko-revolutionary tape «Wait for us at a dawn». Accurately written out strong characters of protagonists, reasonableness and a maturity of all picture, up to last shot - it is a little similar to the first work of the young director. In 1966 course it was replaced - instead of military everyday life of scouts the thin lyrics, poetics of melodies of a youth of the Moldavian shepherds in «Red glades». In this picture Ýìèëü Ëîòÿíó for the first time has shown, how much the great value has òðèåäèíñòâî directions, graphic and musical decisions. Ëîòÿíó spoke: « To tell poetry it is impossible. Cinema - an alloy of feelings and çâóêîçðèòåëüíûõ images. Any poetic vision dictates to me... Certain film metaphors ». Perhaps it was affected by love, after all then he has met Svetlana Toma who has become for long years and a muse, both an ideal of the woman, and the favourite actress. Being completely given to art, he did not forget about reliability: prior to the beginning of shootings long worked with ôàêòîëîãè÷åñêèì a material, searched, compared, again searched for information particles.
Before shootings of a new picture« This instant », narrating about the Moldavian internationalists who have not come back from fights for freedom to Spain, some tens photos, documentary tapes, stories of eyewitnesses have been collected. In the smallest details conditions, suits and even style of speech of heroes have been recreated. And at the same time - poetry again pressing heart, not looking at a plot looking through in each episode, in each shot. The same feeling appears and at viewing«Ëýóòàðû». The picture «the Camp becomes career peak, at least, at a sight of associates, leaves in the sky». Film festivals, awards, rewardings - anything in comparison with that fidelity from which till now spectators over and over again look this picture.
In all the unruly director would like to achieve an ideal - in verses, in films, in itself, in associates. Under certificates of acquaintances and colleagues it was very exacting and rigid person who is not sparing neither, nor actors, operators. On a set process did not stop until the director has not been satisfied. Shootings in a picture «My tender and gentle animal» Galina Beljaeva here is how recollects: «Under the scenario of Olenek runs on wood, and then falls, sliding flexible hands on a birch trunk. Ýìèëþ Ëîòÿíó it would be desirable romanticism in this shot, he demanded, that I slid off on a tree very smoothly. And at a birch, by the way, a bark rough and hilly. I remember, at me all hands were in blood. We have removed five or six doubles, and before - as much rehearsed, and that picture which the director» achieved as a result has turned out. Probably, intolerance to semitones and half measures distinguishes the genius from the usual mortal.
In one of interviews Ýìèëü Vladimirovich so has responded about the work: - When I meet the spectator, is found out, that at us it is a lot of things in common. I always tried to involve the spectator in the world, on a holiday of my pictures. I was convinced, that hundred millions spectators dive into this world and rejoice. Reaction of public always enthusiastic though many tapes are made for a long time. My films looked Ethiopians with spears in hands, silent Finns whom, it appears, the more are silent, the perceive more deeply. My pictures are sold in 140 countries of the world. One international prizes at me more than twenty. In Italy I have received a prize which for all history of a cinema was handed over only three times: to Coppola, Kurosawa and your obedient to the servant. Speak, it is impossible to live on memoirs, but to me is as whom to recollect. Everything, that I did, have left to people.
