Special Commission on Elections President of the Republic of Moldova has decided to propose to Parliament to postpone the day of elections. MP of DP Aurel Beeshu read the decision, which states a number of ambiguous provisions and gaps in the law on presidential elections, which justifies the transfer of public sitting of parliament, scheduled for October 23. The Commission has prepared a draft decision by which to make additions and amendments to the legislative framework on this subject is given 10 days. Parliament also set a new date for holding elections.
Communist deputies Iurie Munteanu and Vasile Sova criticized this decision, demanding a AEI admit the failure of the first round of elections and declare another election. They noted that the conclusion of the Constitutional Court on the need for the participation of two candidates in the presidential election is mandatory. MP from PLDM Vitalie Nagachevsky objected that this conclusion is a recommendation, and submit to the COP legislative changes that will be made shortly. He said that AEI would not like to organize buffoonery with the nomination of a formal candidate for leadership of the state and decided to go to elections with one candidate.
