The symbol of the Moldavian statehood, reconstructed banner Штефана of foreheads Маре, have been used for the first time in protest actions on May, 1st, 2010. Denis Topal, докторант Institute of a cultural heritage of Academy of sciences of Republic Moldova, has developed this red-dark blue flag and considers, that the flag symbolises the main marks in history of the Moldavian statehood. The author of a flag, Denis Topal, asserts, that "... Red and dark blue colours - are very popular in the Moldavian medieval heraldry. For example, the board on arms Штефана Great was red colour. In history of the Moldavian princedom banners of dark blue colour - for example, Vasily Lupu rose also. In 1832 the Organic regulations have fixed the red-dark blue flag which has become first for the Moldavian princedom are international a recognised flag of the country. It without changes has existed before association of the Danube princedoms in 1859. And creation in 1917 was a following coil of the Moldavian statehood The Moldavian Democratic Republic, the board on which arms was dark blue colour ».
Let's remind, that the authorities consider a flag recognition illegal. Despite it flags are hung out already in many regional centres of Republic Moldova (Единцы, Чимишлия...). Today the decision to hang out a flag in Beltsy and Кагуле was accepted.
