Today the Central election Commission summed up the results of the second round of the presidential election and declared a winner the candidate of the socialists Igor Dodon. During the meeting, the CEC head Alina Rusu said that the voting was 1 616 023 voters. Igor Dodon voted 081 834 voters, and his opponent Maia Sandu – 766 593 voters. Igor Dodon shall be deemed elected to the office of President because he won the largest number of votes in the second round of presidential elections. The minutes shall be forwarded to the constitutional court for confirmation of results.
