Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, on a 17-19 April official visit to Sweden, today participated in the Globe Forum meeting, which brings together political and business leaders, MOLDPRES special correspondent has informed.
President Voronin gave a speech at the opening of the meeting, during which he made a review of the Republic of Moldova. He informed that, after re-acquiring its independence, Moldova has carried out intense activities to modernise the country's economy and policy.
Voronin said that, currently, the European democratic norms of social order are being implemented in Moldova and the economic institutions and structures have been transformed in line with the market economy exigencies.
The head of state also told the participants in the meeting that the Moldovan state's policy is oriented towards creating conditions for attracting direct foreign investments and for fostering the internal investment process.
In the context, Voronin highlighted that he has submitted a legislative initiative to the parliament concerning fiscal amnesty, capital amnesty and an essential change of the system of subjecting corporations' income to taxation. At the end of his speech, President Voronin invited the participants in the meeting to visit Moldova.
Globe Forum is an international conference from Scandinavia, which gives specialists in economy and entrepreneurs the possibility of developing their businesses on different markets. The forum is held annually in Stockholm, bringing together about 1,400 business and political leaders.
