VRABIE VITALIE, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Local Public Administration.
Born on October 2, 1964 in Costuleni Village, District (Rayon) of Ungheni, Vitalie Vrabie graduated from the Agricultural Institute of Chişinău with a Degree in Agronomy. He followed his studies at the Academy of Public Administration of Moscow and the Academy for Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Moldova, the Department of International Relations. Holding these two important diplomas, he attended USA-based courses and internship in the field of Agri-business.
His work activity begins as Senior Agronomist on Prut Farm. During 1994-1999, he is Director of JSV Garant-impex, based in Ungheni.
Meanwhile, Vitalie Vrabie is holding civil positions; in 1995-1999 he is Member of Ungheni City Council, Director of the Ungheni Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 1999 Vitalie Vrabie is elected Mayor of Ungheni and then re-elected to this position in 2003. During 2003-2006 he also holds the position of Chairman of the Association of Mayors and Local Communities of the Republic of Moldova, Member of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Head of the National Delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
By Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova no.586-IV of May 25 2006, Vitalie Vrabie is appointed Minister of Local Public Administration.
He is married and father of two children.
