Mejinschi Valentin, Minister of Internal Affairs, born on 24 January 1967 in the village of Corotna, Slobozia Rayon.
He finishes the local Secondary School in 1984.
He served in the National Army Forces within 1985-1987.
In 1987-1990 he is a Non-commissioned Officer in Slobozia Raion Police Unit.
Between 1990 and 1992 he goes to the Special Secondary Militia School in Chisinau.
Since 1992 - Inspector of the Economic Police Unit with the Central Sector Police Station of Chisinau and starting with 1993 – Senior Inspector in the same Unit.
In 1995 he is appointed Deputy Head of the Economic Police Unit with the Central Sector Police Station of Chisinau and starting with 1997 – Head of the Economic Police Unit.
From 1995 to 1998 he attends the Police Academy of Stefan cel Mare of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In 2001, he is appointed Deputy Head of the Operative Unit of the Economic-Financial Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Also in 2001, he starts his Doctorate studies with his Doctoral dissertation on Combating Offences committed by Decision Makers.
In 2002, he is nominated Head Ad-interim of the Economic-Financial Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
With the establishment of the Centre for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption (CCECC) in 2002, Valentin MEJINSCHI is appointed Deputy Director and Head of the Department for Operative Inquiry of the CCCECC.
In 2004, by Government Decision he is nominated Director of the Centre for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption.
By Presidential Decree in 2005, Valentin MEJINSCHI receives the rank of Major-General.
On 31 March 2008 he is appointed Minister of Internal Affairs.
He is married and father of a child.
